Albert Finney’s friends and peers are remembering the acclaimed actor after learning the news of his passing. The British actor and five-time Oscar nominee, who starred in such like Tom Jones, Murder on the Orient Express, Erin Brockovich and Skyfall, died Thursday at age 82.

Finney’s family told the Associated Press in a statement Friday that he “passed away peacefully after a short illness with those closest to him by his side” at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. He died from a chest infection.

Tributes are being shared on social media with Alec Baldwin calling Finney “one of the greatest actors of all time.”

Westworld star and Bond franchise alum, Jeffrey Wright, declared Finney “one of the absolute G.O.A.T.”
