Finding the words was difficult for Ramu Chinthala, who was so happy to be well again, while knowing a mother was grieving the loss of her son.

Ramu’s 13-year-old son Akul helped him deliver the perfect message.

We pray to God so that you get better every day.”

Akul wrote about how much his mother, Aparna, and his younger brother, Anshul, needed Ramu — and how their lives have improved since his dad became healthy again.

His health continued to deteriorate, but his children remained unaware of his condition until 2016. In September of that year, Ramu had surgery to begin dialysis.

Ramu became tired and agitated but tried to keep life normal for his family, playing video games and watching superhero movies when he felt well enough. After six months on a wait list, Ramu received his new kidney on April 8, 2017.

Now, Ramu is able to spend more time with his family and even recently finished a 5K race.

“Your son saved a very good man’s life,” Akul wrote. “And I am very sorry for your loss. And I hope you are ok… I hope we can do more letters. And I hope we can meet each other also! Because of your son [and] your help me and my family can live life again!”

    “It’s so amazing. It’s heart-touching,” Ramu said.
